Well, in my opinion it’s just the eye candy, though I’m sure that people appreciate the psychological trick; every tried to open 2 instances of a program with a Dock?

Why is the Dock becoming more and more popular? It’s probably got something to do with clever window management, doesn’t it?

My Ubuntu box is for my toddler & 2nd grader. Easier than Windows to fix if they break something. And I love using a dock so they can access their favorite apps without Mommy's help. So they do have their benefits.

Why can't I bring up the Dock Preferences dialog in Awn/AWN (as I prefer to call it)? It doesn't do anything. It's useless without it? Right now I'm using Cairo Dock, it pwns, BUT... it has an area which, when leaved, cuts off. And this applies to all the FX and that whiz-bang. For example, try pulling off a parabolic stack and see what I mean. It creates another area and it cuts the stack off while it's animating. I hope the guys over at Cairo go fix this and that AWN doesn't have this problem. I'll stick to AWN as long as that isn't fixed. It also looks tasty and I never *used* it. I believe it's going to be a good app...

To the awn team developer.
I pretty happy with your release . Running the dock on Lucid lynx. Weel i was just wondering if i could sort of move the thing around you know or hide it for a while, like when i need to read a full page document or something :)
