As per my knowledge there is no such Linux distro that looks like Mac OS X, instead to get the feel of Mac you can try to install themes and other stuff and a dock to make Linux look like Mac OS X. But for that you need to perform lots of work but this can be the option for you as you are asking for Mac OS like Linux distro that I don’t think possible to have. Hope this will help you to get the Mac like feeling in Linus.

For those of you Linux guru's who say "Why does everyone have to keep comparing Linux to Windows or Mac..?", I will answer:

It uses a keyboard and mouse
It runs programs
It is a vehicle to get to the Internet

In essence, because it is vying for the hearts and minds of users. If it ever expects non-techs to accept it, it will have to compete [read that: be comparable] with Windows and Mac [and I will grant you upfront, that it does VERY well at competing on almost every level]. But wake up folks - people compare Windows and OSX, ALL THE TIME!

May I humbly submit that they HAVE to. If they are users of one system, is it worth the learning curve to go to the other? Are they willing to learn a new version of the same app, or perhaps even move to a similar app, to do the same tasks they do already?

Are you suggesting that Linux be allowed entre to that forum, WITHOUT that scrutiny?? Without people saying 'this' is easier in Windows? 'That' works a little more smoothly on the Mac? People make those comparisons all the time - even between Windows & Mac. You want in? Accept the challenge of being compared, and frankly, working harder to smooth the path of transition.

Most techies keep up the mantra "It's as good or better!", and it is... But "everyday folks" need to be convinced they aren't relearning how to use a computer [from scratch]. As some have pointed out, even new versions of Windows or OSX cause SOME ruffling of feathers.

Why is is so bad to have a version of Linux with "Windows or Mac training wheels?". I know people so hooked on AOL, that when broadband came along, they didn't want to leave the AOL environment behind. It was difficult to get them to use a standard browser and an email app - AOL was the Internet with training wheels. Allow for distros of Linux that have training wheels for the other OS's. Welcome it, as the doorway to enlightenment for those poor users of bloatware OS's!! If they are at all curious, it WILL lead to an expanded universe...

MacPup is probably the best one if you fear of havoc wrecked by dualbooting, yet want your Linux to save sessions.

I triple-boot, ubuntu 10.04, OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard & win 7 ultimate...
I use osx for media editing & design...
ubuntu for crappy activity(xxx, messing around, file editing...)
For the rest, I use Windows...
Believe me, Window is the best...Mac 2nd & linux distros 3rd.
for stingy people:
if you are students, you get free microsoft software -> dreamspark
if you are entrepreneurs, free microsoft software -> bizspark
if you are web designers/developers, you get free microsoft software -> webspark
&
windows 7 is the stablest of em all.. I don't use ny antivirus eidr..(battery life way betta as compared to any linux distro too)
I only like mac because of it's stability as far as multimedia is concerned

Moreover my windows & osx both play HD videos(1080p) without any glitches... Linux distros lag my videos...(don't tell me about codec packs, accelerators... I havi it optimised, yet windows/osx beat linux anyday)

Final word - Linux -> (People who neva had the ability to develop an OS, get to mess with 1...)
for People who dunno TPB...
for people who'll never use their pc as their pc...
Fragmentation(principally) & Unstability to the core -> Linux distros
Best for browsing p0rn... :)

Thank you Linus T. Salute. Bet you love the chaos.
