The Laptop Info Technology Division offers both skilled technical and lower division laptop science and pc info programs course work. This research examines the literature on the effectiveness of computers in social research instruction and studying and assesses the traits and patterns of technology use within the social studies over the previous five years. The articles have been drawn from intensive searches of primary sources located in academic journals, ERIC databases, and related academic analysis web sites. The research is two-fold, in that it began as a review of articles found only within the three NCSS publications: Social Schooling, Social Research and the Young Learner, and Theory & Analysis in the Social Studies. Further searches were carried out and the exhaustive search resulted in locating a complete of 325 articles, texts, chapters, and government experiences pertaining to know-how and the social studies from Spring 1996-Fall 2001.
The profitable candidate will spend not less than 50% of their time on the GTA training venture, but as a result of nature of the funding, there is some freedom to collaborate on present tasks and to lead new analysis directions.
